I had just done my first High Key Portrait session the night before...actually it was the first studio experience I've ever had. It was a good time, I learned alot, and the model was not only gorgeous she was also able to give great poses without direction. Which was a definite boon to me because I was waaaayy too caught up in making sure my settings were right and struggling with the camera and lighting.
I've officially been biten by the photo bug! Shooting landscapes and archetecture is fun and I enjoy doing it but working with live models with a lighting setup is a different experience all together. Just the connection you can make with eyes to the lens is amazing.
If there are any beginner or aspiring models in the Toronto area hit me up with a note! I definitely want to get more practice with this kind of photography!
This was shot on a Nikon D5100 with a 55-200mm lens with a 3 light setup. F-stop 8, shutter 1/60, ISO 100. Edited in Photoshop to crop and add a vignette.
Special thanks to Phil Sutherland for providing some invaluable tips and Ellyn Woods for being a wonderful model!
